Mrs. Ashley Fraley
Mrs. Ashley Fraley is the new Director of Bands at Springfield Local Schools. Having served as the choir director and assistant band director at Springfield she is excited for her new role. Prior to her time at Springfield, she taught in Akron Public Schools, serving as the Band Director at Kenmore High School for two years and the assistant director at Garfield High School for 3. She studied at Kent State University earning a Bachelor of Music degree, and at Capella University earning a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction. While at Kent State she served as the president of the National Honorary Band Sorority, Tau Beta Sigma. Outside of school, Mrs. Fraley loves to snuggle her Mini Aussie- Loki, and to travel (especially to Disney) with her husband Craig. As an alumna of Springfield High School and lifelong township resident, she is excited to uphold the strong traditions of the Spartan Band program.
Mr. Jake Williams is the Assistant Marching Band Director at Springfield High School, serving in his second year. He is a graduate of Springfield High School, where he marched in the band 5 year, and went on to be a trumpet instructor for an additional 5. Outside of Springfield, Jake student taught at Lake Middle/High School, taught at Akron Public Schools, and currently is teaching at Louisville Middle School. Jake graduated from the University of Akron with a Bachelor of Arts in Education, a second major in History, and a minor in Sports Coaching Studies. Jake is an avid fan of the marching arts, especially Drum Corps International (Go Bluecoats!). Outside of band, Jake is a proud local resident of Springfield Township. IN his spare time he loves to golf and go on walks with his dog Obie.
